Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like to notify that VI Tkaczewski International Piano Competition, which was supposed to take place in Sanatorium Marconi in Busko-Zdroj has  just changed its format to Special Online Edition.

As many events around the world being postponed, we are living in the certainty of the world pandemic. We cannot imagine organizing this  event with strongly limited audience and severely limited participation of international candidates.

As a concert pianist, I know, how important role in the life of young musicians plays participating in international piano competitions. In the situation where piano adepts are unable to participate in the live events, we would like to create for them the online opportunity to compete against their counterparts around the world.

I would like to thank to  our main sponsor – RTV Euro AGD,  for staying with us in these difficult times. I would also like to thank Connecticut Chopin Foundation for co-organizing this event and providing substantial support.

The VI Tkaczewski International Piano Competition-Special Online Edition will have an application deadline till August 31, 2021. The contestants will be evaluated on the basis  of sent recording links in  five categories: up 10, up 13, up 16, up 19 and no age limit. The repertoire is free.

The total of prizes will be ca. 12000 USD, including ca. 5000 USD in cash and 7000 in concerts, masterclasses and festivals engagements. Winners will be presented at the winners concerts at Sanatorium Marconi in Busko-Zdroj and Concert Hall of  Paderewski Music School in Tarnow.

Selected top winners will have an opportunity to perform at International Chopin Festival named after Barbara Hese-Bukowska in Busko-Zdroj and International Festival Maestro Krystian Tkaczewski and his Guests in Tarnow. Selected winners will join winner ceremony of prestigious Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT in March 2022.
